Join us on an inspiring 12-day yoga safari in Africa! Immerse yourself in the wonders of a classic safari, where you'll witness an array of wildlife against the backdrop of spectacular landscapes. You'll engage with local communities brimming with vibrant cultures. And in the latter half of your journey, you'll find yourself in the serene environment of Zanzibar Island. Here, under the guidance of our experienced yoga teacher, Mie Horiuchi, your yoga practice will begin, facilitating a deeper exploration of self-discovery and interconnectedness.
During days 1 to 5, you will be on the mainland of Tanzania, where you will experience a unique blend of wildlife exploration in some of Africa's most iconic parks. At the same time, you'll immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes of this country by participating in nature walks and engaging with local cultures.
During days 6-11 in Zanzibar, there will be a daily yoga practice. Each session is in a spacious Shala nearby the Indian Ocean. The morning practice will be active and focused on connecting movement and breath to awaken your energy. You will be guided into asanas (postures) through well-combined sequences themed specially for each day. The late afternoon practice will be a combination of Yin yoga (a mostly seated practice that helps to balance the flow of energy), yoga nidra (deep relaxation), meditation, and sound therapy.
