A unique retreat that combines Vipassana Meditation with embodiment practices inspired by dance improvisation and movement therapy.
- How do we find collective stillness?
What creates a sense of safety and support within ourselves, each other, and our surroundings? - How can we gain clarity about ourselves when we are with others?
- How do we truly see another?
Over four days, we connect with ourselves and each other, supported by a simple schedule.
At 6 AM, we begin with Vipassana meditation, followed by guided solo movement exploration. After breakfast, we engage in Authentic Movement, a form of expressive movement therapy where we move and witness each other in a compassionate space.
In the afternoons, following a one-hour walking meditation, we explore simple exercises from dance improvisation to cultivate embodied presence, listening and communication. In the evenings, there is space for a Dhamma talk, Q&A sessions, and a guided group meditation.
A 48-hour silence period will help us deepen our process and allow inner and collective silence to emerge. Writing, alone time and group sharing will help us integrate what we learn. We encourage you step away from the online world during the retreat.
As facilitators, our experience in intensive meditation retreats found fertile ground when we ventured into the realm of dance improvisation.
We believe that the practices of silence and stillness are profoundly enhanced by dance and movement therapy, deepening and fostering connections with beauty, mystery, and interconnectedness. The transformation moves from the individual to the collective.

Deine Leiter*innen

Reimar is a Thailand and Germany based Vipassana meditation teacher and dance improvisation facilitator with a passion for Body-Mind practices.
Stress, anxiety and a lifelong struggle with eczema led him to meet Vipassana Meditation while studying at Melbourne University, Australia.
Feeling early benefits, he dedicated himself to daily practice and silent retreats (in the tradition of SN Goenka) alongside his full time investment management job.
During COVID, he moved to Thailand, to explore meditation deeper. There he also met other embodiment practices such as contact improvisation dance, free-diving, and Aikido. He also completed a certificate in Embodiment Coaching with Mark Walsh.
Now, he practices primarily Vipassana meditation. He studied intensively with his teacher, Ajahn Puttar from Wat Sopharam in Thailand for many months, where he regularly returns.
He believes in a balanced and integrated approach that calls for full engagement in life. Inspired to share the benefits of Vipassana, he founded vipassanathome.org in 2021. He regularly hosts dance improvisation and contact improvisation workshops and retreats in Japan, Thailand, Germany and Portugal.
