Rooted atop a Tuscan hill and overlooking the nearby sea (5 km), the restored 17th century monastery offers a nurturing space to unplug from daily routine. To this day, locals still talk about the purifying properties of Alberelli’s air: a rejuvenating breeze that sweeps uphill from the salty sea through the pine trees.
Thick stone walls open to views of texture-rich landscapes through emerald window shutters. Each apartment’s decor exhibits Etruscan heritage, with a contemporary edge! We love creating and showcasing the creations of others, scattering them around the property as a beautiful surprise for observers.

The meals you enjoy at Alberelli’s table are the product of careful planning, quality locally sourced seasonal ingredients, and generations of Tuscan culinary knowledge. We believe that nutrition is a combination of the properties of each ingredient and the energy with which they are assembled. From farm to table, our vegetarian dishes are grown, prepared and served with love.
In collaboration with our talented and beautiful cook, and professional and kind staff, we delight in creating a memorable experience in a private and inviting environment. Every detail of the table and ambiance where your group will dine is carefully considered. Each dish is beautifully presented and served with a smile.
- Half-board (1 breakfast + 1 dinner): €60 per day, per person.
- Brunch (early morning mini-snack+ 1 brunch + 1 dinner): €80 per day, per person.
- Full-board ( 1 breakfast + 1 lunch + 1 dinner): €90 per day, per person.
Included in the above formulas are: tea, coffee, herbal infusions and water. 1 portion of seasonal fruit per person is also provided every day, either in the morning or afternoon.
Careful thought and creativity is put into menu planning, so we kindly ask to be notified in advance of any special dietary requirements (e.g. intolerances/vegan...no meat or fish please).
*Dietary restrictions can be accommodated at an additional cost of €8 per person per day.
The tea, infusions, coffee, water and seasonal fruits are available in self-service style!

Vegetarian/Vegan Tuscan Cooking Course
The class lasts 3.5 hrs and is taught by our beautiful and talented cook, dear friend and a cherished member of our Tribe.

The products we use are seasonal, local, organic and often taken from our very own vegetable garden.
An authentic Tuscan farmer’s table typically showcases vegetarian dishes so we offer our guests a real taste of farm life in the Mediterranean countryside.
Groups can choose to get involved in a practical class making different types of pasta from scratch, using their own hands to make the genuine product.
Or they can opt for an oral class where the group will observe and take notes while Letizia cooks and explains our healthy and delicious recipes.

Wild Herb Walk
Guided by Cristiana, Sara’s mother, figurehead of Tribe Alberelli and an expert in recognising the wild herbs and plants that grow spontaneously on our hills.
Cristiana's new book, Amiche Erbe, is available for purchase in print (Italian & English).
The walk is slow and pleasant, lasting approximately 2.5 hrs.
Participants will learn how to identify wild herbs and take home the knowledge of their holistic uses, including in the kitchen!

Alberelli's Olive Groves Tour + Tasting
Nicola leads the group through our sustainable olive farm and explains how we organically grow, harvest and cold- press the olives into our self-produced extra virgin olive oil. The experience is complete with an olive oil tasting.
The participants will try various olive oils paired with freshly wood-fired bread from a local artisan bakery (1 km away from Alberelli).
The tour and tasting lasts about 2 hrs, after which participants will understand the entire process involved in creating Alberelli’s oil which they can buy to enjoy throughout their stay and take home with them.

Re-wild Walk + Picnic on the Beach (NOT IN THE MONTHS OF JULY AND AUGUST).
It’s possible to reach the sea by an easy and peaceful walk (approx. 1.5 hrs) on an enchanting and wild path that begins at the base of the farmhouse.
The trail is “wild” in the sense that there aren’t trail markers, but it isn’t difficult and we’ll provide detailed directions. You’ll adventure through magical pine and oak forests with typical mediterranean marquis, across olive groves, along winding streams and amidst lively fauna and flora all the way to the shoreline.

There’s also an option to have the midday meal as a picnic under an orchard on the private beach. It will be prepared and transported by us and laid out on the table by your guide. There’s also a small field of grass where you can practise.

Wine Tasting at Alberelli
In the evening, a sommelier will come to Alberelli with Tuscan wines to taste, giving the explanation of their production and origin. We will either provide a small snack to accompany the wines or you will have the tasting along with your dinner… all local produce of high quality, and taste ;).

Bike and E-bike rentals/tours, water sport gear rentals, boat rentals, tour + wine tasting at Bolgheri Castagneto Carducci, city tours of famed nearby cities like Florence, Pisa as well as the less known but equally charming city of Livonro.

Included in all quotes are exclusive use of the studio, bed and bath linens, heating of the lodgings and the studio, wood for
the fireplaces, electricity, water and cleaning upon check-out.
While we appreciate the benefits of technology, we also believe in the importance of being present without distraction. Only specific areas of our property have WiFi access (the Pavilion Studio and Art Gallery) to encourage staying connected with one’s natural surroundings.

For all the hard work you put into the realisation of these retreats, we gift you the following:
From 10 paying participants, 1 organiser stays for free as our guest
From 15 paying participants, 2 organisers stay for free as our guests
The closest airport to us is Pisa International Airport (about 35 min) and the second closest is Florence Airport (about 1.5 hr).
From mid-May to the end of June and from the beginning of September to mid-October we require a minimum stay of 5 nights, with Saturday as the day of arrival.
From July to August stays are weekly, with Saturday as the day of arrival.
From mid-October to mid-May, the minimum stay is 2 nights (excluding Christmas and Easter holidays, with a minimum of 5 nights).
Our nearest train stations are Quercianella Sonnino (10 min) and Livorno Centrale (about 20 min).
We rent entire lodgings.
For EXCLUSIVE use of the entire structure the price is € 1,300 per night and includes:
All 5 distinct lodgings (12 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms), the studio and 42 hectares of our green farmland.

From/to Pisa airport:
It’s possible to pre-book a minivan taxi (approximately €150 - €170 / 6-8 passengers, to be confirmed by the private taxi company).
Otherwise, guests can get the “PisaMover” shuttle to Pisa Centrale train station. From Pisa Centrale station, they get the train to Livorno Centrale station from where they can get a mini-van taxi to Alberelli (approximately €60 - €100 / 6-8 passengers, there are taxis parked directly outside the train station at the “Piazza Dante” entrance/exit).
Or, instead of taking the train to Livorno Centrale, they can take the train to Quercianella-Sonnino station. This is the train station closest to Alberelli, so we can pick-up guests with our own cars (€5 per person, per trip).
From/to Florence airport:
We suggest taking the train from Florence to Quercianella-Sonnino station from where we can pick-up guests with our own cars (€5 per person, per trip).
Otherwise the private minivan taxi costs approximately €220 per trip (6-8 passengers.
From/to Rome:
(approx 3/4 hours away by train) You can either rent a coach/ bus to transport your group from Rome, or take the train. There are two train options:
The more economical option is to get the regional train which is longer as it makes more stops (approx 4 hrs), but the price remains approximately the same even if booking at the last minute.
The regional train passes Quercianella-Sonnino station from where we can pick-up guests with our own cars (€5 per person, per trip)
Or the faster option is to get the Freccia which is direct (approx 3 hours), but the price increases if you don’t book in advance.
The Freccia usually has a stop at Livorno Centrale from where guests can hire the taxis outside, or take another train to Quercianella-Sonnino from where we can collect them.
We suggest hiring cars to be more independent as public transport is a bit scarce up here in the countryside.
If needed, we can use our private cars to take a group of people to the beach or base of our hill where buses are more frequent.
We ask for €5 per person, per trip.
