“This place is for the people.” — Bogdan Snela, founder of Domicilium
The seminar center
The Domicilium – Center for Zen, Spirituality and Education – was founded in 1986 by Bogdan and Helena Snela. To this end, the 400-year-old Leitenkistler estate in Weyarn was acquired and inaugurated as a Zen house by Jesuit Father Hugo Enomiya-Lassalle. Since then, it has been a place of mindful living, silence and inner reflection. Over the past nearly 40 years, around 40,000 people have sought and deepened their spiritual path here. Nestled in the peaceful countryside on the high banks of the Mangfall River, in a wooded area near the monastery village of Weyarn, about 30 kilometers south of Munich, the house offers ideal conditions for meditation, inter-spiritual encounters and continuing education in the field of hospice and bereavement counseling. It is used as a seminar and meditation center and is a retreat that inspires and creates space for personal development in the here and now.
The seminar rooms
The heart of the Domicilium are two bright, welcoming meditation rooms measuring 850 square feet and 700 square feet. With their calming view of the spacious garden and the Mangfall River, they offer a soothing atmosphere for mindfulness and inner reflection. The rooms are versatile and regularly serve as a venue for Zen meditation, yoga, silent retreats and spiritual seminars. They embody the philosophy of the house: to create a protected, quiet space where people can find peace, encounter themselves and gain new inspiration for their lives.
