I have lived an intense and demanding professional life in France, filled with challenges and hard work. Throughout my career, I always sought balance in nature, finding peace and serenity by traveling across Europe in search of its most beautiful forests. Whenever the opportunity arose, I would spend my nights outdoors, under the stars, surrounded by the quiet solitude of nature. This has been my rhythm for as long as I can remember, a way to reconnect with the world outside the office and the rush of daily life.
For the past 45 years, I've been a passionate motorcyclist, exploring countless landscapes and discovering hidden gems that are often off the beaten path. Riding has always been more than a hobby for me; it's a way of life, a connection to the freedom that the open road brings, and a deep immersion in the environment around me.
One day, I stumbled upon Frisbo, a place that captured my heart immediately. There was something magical about it, a natural beauty that demanded to be shared with others. Together with like-minded people who understood the importance of such a place, we decided to create Frisbo Lodge. Born out of a shared desire to offer a space where others could experience the same sense of peace and wonder, Frisbo Lodge is now a place where travelers can connect with nature, just as I have throughout my life.

Who am I?
I am Philippe GUIEU, born in Marseille, France. For the first ten years of my professional life, I worked as an engineer. It was a period of intense technical learning and immersion in solving complex problems. The scientific rigor and precision required in this profession helped shape my ability to think in a structured way and manage large-scale projects. This role laid a strong foundation for the rest of my career.
After a decade in engineering, I chose to shift my career towards law, where I worked as a lawyer for two decades. This change marked a radical transformation, moving from the technical world to one more focused on human relationships and navigating complex legal situations.
Alongside my professional journey, I also took time to immerse myself in baking. This artisanal craft offers a return to simplicity, a direct connection to the product, and a different form of creativity.
Today, working with dough, monitoring the baking process is still a way to ground myself in something tangible.
As a motorcyclist for 45 years, I’ve traveled across Europe, from vast plains to winding roads, in search of freedom and escape. Traveling by motorcycle allows you to feel every change in temperature, every shift in the wind, and to become one with the landscapes.
nd finally, I’ve always had a passion for the mountains, with a distinct preference for winter adventures. Whether it’s the solitude of snow-covered peaks or the physical challenge of high altitudes, frozen landscapes have always offered me a retreat, far from the daily hustle.
In both my outdoor adventures and my forest life, I’ve always sought to do more with less equipment. It is essential to live in tune with nature rather than against it, adapting to the environment instead of imposing on it.
This philosophy of harmony and simplicity is something we proudly transmit at Frisbo Lodge, offering our guests a chance to reconnect with nature in a genuine, respectful way.
