What happened to BookYogaRetreats?
Its parent company Tripaneer B.V. is insolvent. A court-appointed trustee now controls its money, websites and contracts. Whether the platform will continue and whether outstanding claims will be paid is currently unclear.
Important for you: BookYogaRetreats usually only paid deposits out to the organiser after you arrived. For upcoming retreats, your money is therefore usually still with the bankrupt company – not with the organiser.

How to get your money back
We recommend these five steps to every guest who booked through BookYogaRetreats or one of its sister sites.
Contact your retreat organiser directly
Ask the organiser whether your retreat is still going ahead and whether they received your deposit from BookYogaRetreats. Many organisers have not been paid their share yet and may ask guests to pay again. Get any new arrangement confirmed in writing before you pay a second time.
Request a chargeback
Credit card: Ask your card issuer for a chargeback because the service you paid for will not be provided. Deadlines vary by card scheme but are usually around 120 days. UK credit cards: Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act may cover purchases between £100 and £30,000. PayPal: Open a Buyer Protection claim, possible up to 180 days after payment. Bank transfer: A chargeback is not possible – you can still file a claim with the trustee (step 4). In every case: act quickly.
Check your insurance
Check your travel or cancellation insurance: some policies cover the insolvency of a supplier. If your booking came with an insolvency protection certificate, contact the insurer named on it.
File a claim with the trustee
You can file your claim for free with the trustee via the ClaimsAgent portal (claimsagent.nl). Have your booking confirmation and proof of payment ready and file before the creditors’ meeting on 9 December 2026. Be realistic, though: ordinary creditors often recover only a small part of their money from a bankruptcy, or nothing at all.
Beware of scams
Never pay a fee to anyone promising to “recover” your money, and do not share your card details with strangers. Filing a claim with the trustee is free.
