Sam Seghers

I love Japanese mindful culture and sharing the less well-known, yet very interesting places and practices - some that regular tourists have no access to. I have lived in Japan for a total of 15 years, traveling 45 of the 47 prefectures by train, hiking, bicycle and by motorbike.

I started with teaching with sunset yoga on the beach in Australia in 2014. Since then, I’ve had my own studio in Australia, and now in Kyoto. I love sharing Japanese traditional arts and practices. I love providing that negative space that we all need to spend time in to be able to rest, reset and reenergise.

I run retreats throughout the Kansai area of central Japan in out of the way places with amazing grounding energies.

My yoga is adapted for each person in the class and is based around slowing down, taking the space we need to stop, so our minds and bodies can move back towards rest and digest, improving brain, body and immune function..
